Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Accounting to lead our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, with a strong focus on VAT compliance, corporate tax management, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This role requires deep knowledge of tax regulations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting department, providing guidance and support to a team of accountants.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns and compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Monitor changes in VAT legislation and implement necessary adjustments to the company’s accounting practices.
  • Provide expert advice on VAT-related matters, including the implications of transactions and new business ventures.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
  • Identify and implement tax-efficient strategies, including managing tax risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors, and consultants to resolve tax-related issues and audits.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights into the company’s financial performance and tax liabilities.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate policies.
  • Lead internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field..
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of VAT regulations and corporate tax laws.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Tally and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
